Growth Charts
To track your child's growth over a period of time, healthcare professionals such as paediatricians use growth charts. Such growth charts contain expected parameters of children of the same gender in a certain age group. By comparing weight, height and head circumference to the growth chart, your doctor can determine whether your child is growing at a normal rate. Growth charts typically differ for boys and girls because of a disparity in their growing patterns. There are also usually two sets of growth charts for each gender.
In addition to being an essential tool for your doctor, you can also make use of growth charts to monitor your child's growth. By studying your child's growing pattern over a period of time, you can find out whether he or she is progressing well.
Here on KidzGrow, we have two types of growth charts available for you to check out. One is by the World Health Organisation (WHO) while the other is from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in United States. As previously mentioned, there are two different sets of growth charts for each gender. WHO covers children from 0 - 24 months and 24 - 60 months. On the other hand, CDC monitors from 0 - 36 months and 2 - 20 years old.

WHO Growth Charts provide child growth standards that are the result of extensive study done on children from 6 countries representing different regions. This was after a United Nations review in 1993 that determined that standards should be a guideline for all children's growth when their needs are satisfied.
